A Bit About Woody
Woody Laufanua is an indigenous Solomon Islander from Vavanga village, Kolombangara, and has been assisting researchers as an indigenous guide for over 20 years across both terrestrial and marine ecosystems. However, it is within the marine environment that Woody has honed his skills as an expert fisher, with a particular passion for spearfishing. His knowledge and insight into fish species ID, behaviour, ecology and biology has been invaluable. He is also trained in collection of scientific data, and has an appreciation for sampling and specimen collection.
